Hilltop,

The 9/11 conspiracy theories came bundled with various predictions such as that Bush and his big, bad evil neo-cons would commandeer the government like Hitler did Germany's.  Democracy out the window, civil rights a vague memory, etc.  In order to achieve his nefarious goal, Bush would ratchet up the "threat" of Islamic terrorism.  There would be another "attack" on U.S. soil to seal the deal.  Scapegoated Muslims would be rounded up for internment or worse in camps throughout the states.  It would be just like but not quite like what Livia's mum lived through in Hitler's Germany.  The U.S. would seize more and more of the world's wealth and Bush and his cronies would enjoy consolidated power on a truly unprecedented scale.

Of course none of this happened.  Perhaps somewhat ironically, the Republicans shot themselves in the foot by preventing any further 9/11 attacks.  Bush left the White House like he came in, through the front door, when his term of office ended.  A black, "progressive" Democrat whose power-base was varied and extensive but definitely not centered in the "military industrial complex" took over and, wisely or not, Bush et al. are being challenged, maybe  even worse, over things like water-boarding Khalid Sheik Muhammad.

Plus, the American economy imploded.

Point being that none of the conspiracy believers' paranoid fantasies came even close to fruition.  None.

Point being that, if they were the least bit clear-headed, honest and responsible, the conspiracy believers would be revisiting their "analysis" and second-guessing their breathless nightmares.

Agree or disagree and why?

It can, that is, until it can't.  At which point those that are left will be standing around saying: "See, I told yah!" to each other.  No one will have a "Let's wait and see" excuse.

Turns out, the only people saved will be the tofu-eaters.

Geez Jim,

There You go again about your conspiracy theories.

But I understand (really I do) that's what you do best.

I simply like the real facts. Do you? Why or why not?

I didn't like Bush and I don't like Obama the other big liar.

How can I educate you or help you? The last time we communicated you still thought The Federal Reserve was a worthwhile government agency and not run by a private group of bankers. Unless you were being sarcastic. The Federal Reserve needs to be audited big time! HR 1207 ect.

However, I do think Obama is much more dangerous than Bush because he is so slick and all.

I also think you can stick your conspiracy theories where the sun doesn't shine. I dislike them and they don't help.

Honesty is still the best policy. Try it sometime.

Agree or disagree and why?

I thought you did believe in one or more of the 9/11 conspiracy theories.  You don't, huh?  Sorry.  My mistake.

The federal reserve is such a boring conspiracy theory to worry yourself over.  Here, read this and be done with it.

Honesty Jim,

Where do you get your information from? Fox news or one of the other controlled media outlets? It makes me wonder.

Yikes Jim! You said...The federal reserve is such a boring conspiracy theory to worry yourself over.

Yes, well maybe trillions of dollars being robbed from us is boring to you. I find it compelling and worth looking into.

I know calling names is what you do best, but I need to do it again too and ask you this... Are you really that stupid about everything?

Yes Jim Lol... The Federal Reserve is a conspiracy theory.

NORAD standing down on the 911 attacks is a fact. Sorry.

I'm right and your wrong kinda thing right? LOL forever!

Hilltop, did you actually read that website?  It explains all you need to know about the Fed and then some and no, it's got nothing to do with big, bad Fox news.

But what's this about NORAD?  I thought you didn't believe in 9/11 conspiracy theories.  Now you do? Make up your mind.

Anyways, because enough idiots wasted so much time on these stupid, paranoid fantasies, Popular Mechanics wasted more time and money debunking them.  Here's what they say about the NORAD idea:

No Stand-Down Order

Claim:
No fighter jets were scrambled from any of the 28 Air Force bases
within close range of the four hijacked flights. "On 11 September
Andrews had two squadrons of fighter jets with the job
of protecting the skies over Washington D.C.," says the Web site
emperors-clothes.com. "They failed to do their job." "There is only one
explanation for this," writes Mark R. Elsis of StandDown.net. "Our Air
Force was ordered to Stand Down on 9/11."

FACT: On 9/11 there were only 14 fighter jets on alert in the contiguous 48 states. No computer
network or alarm automatically alerted the North American Air Defense
Command (NORAD) of missing planes. "They [civilian Air Traffic Control,
or ATC] had to pick up the phone and literally dial us," says Maj.
Douglas Martin, public affairs officer for NORAD. Boston Center, one of
22 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regional ATC facilities,
called NORAD's Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS) three times: at
8:37 am EST to inform NEADS that Flight 11 was hijacked; at 9:21 am to
inform the agency, mistakenly, that Flight 11 was headed for Washington
(the plane had hit the North Tower 35 minutes earlier); and at 9:41 am
to (erroneously) identify Delta Air Lines Flight 1989 from Boston as a
possible hijacking. The New York ATC called NEADS at 9:03 am to report
that United Flight 175 had been hijacked — the same time the plane
slammed into the South Tower. Within minutes of that first call from
Boston Center, NEADS scrambled two F-15s from Otis Air Force Base in
Falmouth, Mass., and three F-16s from Langley Air National Guard Base
in Hampton, Va. None of the fighters got anywhere near the pirated
planes.

Why couldn't ATC find the hijacked flights? When the hijackers
turned off the planes' transponders, which broadcast identifying
signals, ATC had to search 4500 identical radar blips crisscrossing
some of the country's busiest air corridors. And NORAD's sophisticated
radar? It ringed the continent, looking outward for threats, not
inward. "It was like a doughnut," Martin says. "There was no coverage
in the middle." Pre-9/11, flights originating in the States were not
seen as threats and NORAD wasn't prepared to track them.

The problem here is that you won't accept that Popular Mechanics and the scientists they asked to review all this stuff aren't "in on it too".  You just love your paranoid fantasies too much.  You'd be so disappointed to learn they weren't true.

Well guess what.  They're not.
