I picked up Halsey's Typhoon: The True Story of a Fighting Admiral, an Epic Storm, and an Untold Rescue in the discard pile at my library. I just finished it and liked it a lot
I had never heard about Typhoon Cobra (not many have) that sunk three U.S. ships in the Pacific in 1944, WWII. Nearly 800 sailors were lost, but some survived. It's a good read for anyone who like WWII and/or maritime stories, and stories of survival in really high seas.
This website has some cool info and photos of the seas and ships. It's amazing anyone made it out alive.
