A door is creaking open and a terrible stink is creeping out. Could it be possible that Prem Rawat is a paedophile? That he has been sexually
abusing his own children? Why would anyone make that up? Although I stopped following Rawat years ago, my first reaction when I was made aware of
these accusations was “This can’t be true.” The idea of abusing a child as
young as three or four is despicable. Committing these crimes on your own
children is even worse. It betrays a trust between a child and a parent that
should be sacred. “This can’t be true.” Then I remembered something that happened years ago, when Hansi was about four years
old. When Rawat and his family came to England, a small classroom was set up at their
house in Reigate, and for a couple of years or so, I was their schoolteacher
whenever they were in Europe. Wadi was the main pupil, and Hansi used to come
and go. He was only four and it was better not to put any pressure on him at
that age. Wadi, who was a couple of years older, loved coming to class, so I
didn’t have any problems. There was a programme in Miami Beach. I flew over and checked into a hotel. While I
was there, I was invited over to Rawat’s house to see the children. At one
point in the day, Hansi wanted to show me his toys, which were in a small room
off his bedroom.
Shelves covered the walls, which were stocked with expensive models and
playthings. There was enough stuff in there to open a toyshop. We sat on the
carpet and Hansi demonstrated his current favourite toys. The bedroom door opened and somebody entered. We couldn’t see who it was from the
toy room. Hansi went into the bedroom and left me sitting on the floor playing with
his spaceships. I couldn’t see what was going on next door, but the door was open and I could hear
everything. It was his father who had entered the room. After a couple of minutes I heard him saying, “What’s that? What’s that there? Between your legs. What’s that between your legs?
What’s that there? What’s that between your legs? What is it?” He said it
several times. When I got back to the hotel I tried to work out what had been happening. But I
couldn’t. There was no way I could put it together. Rawat was the perfect human
being, full of love and compassion. His mysteries were beyond my comprehension.
I stuck the memory of what I heard in the toy cupboard in a drawer in the back
of my mind and left it there. The years passed. The premie school my wife and I had been part of fell apart. We
left the ashram, had children and gradually readjusted to life outside the
cult. I discovered one of Rawats mahatmas had been abusing children and helped expose
him. Life went on. Then recently I became aware of the accusations claiming Rawat was a paedophile who
had been abusing his own children. My reaction was the same as I’m sure most
people’s response was, “This can’t be true.” Then the memory of what happened
in the toy cupboard, all those years ago floated to the surface, like a corpse
freeing itself from the mud at the bottom of a lake after years of being
submerged. My admiration and respect for Hansi and Shana are immense. As others have said
below, speaking out requires immense courage. But the truth must come out. And
we shouldn’t be afraid of speaking the truth. A child abuser shouldn’t be
allowed to get away with it, even if he is the Lord of the Universe. Bringing this sordid matter out into the open (and I’m sure there’s more to come) raises
other questions. If the abuse was happening, who else knew about it and why
didn’t they do anything? Was any other abuse happening at the same time? I
heard disturbing stories involving different mahatmas. Maybe this is the beginning of the end for the Satguru. Can this be true? Anth Ginn

It's kind of unthinkable, until you think about it.
In my mid-teens I found my Dad clobbering my mother.
It changed my perspective on all those times throughout my childhood when my mother had given herself a black eye by walking into door frames. I had never seen her walk into a door frame, and yet this is what I was told, and knew no more then than to somehow believe it.
There'll be people who knew what was going on, and also people who didn't think they knew what was going on until they allow themselves to think the unthinkable.

Since I read in FB the allegation that *both* parents were abusive with their kids (something really really unthinkable), I thought a lot about how *a mother* could be part of the abuse?
Here's my clue:
No abusive father without an enabling mother.
In this "special case" I also consider that Marolyn very probably strived to be 'The Number One Devotee' ... who thinks she's not even worthy of one glance of "her master". If misunderstood devotion were a medical condition, she would probably be stage V of it: incurable...
Now here come two other pieces of info (which I heard through the grapevin back in these days) which now fall into place:
1. Marolyn goes to Pepperdine University and studies psychology. (Maybe a hint of her Inner Being to try and make her aware of her own 'shadow'?)
2. Marolyn lives in her own house, away from the Residence (understandable considering the Ji openly and shamelessly lived with his mistress, Monica) ... and she is very sick with a brain tumor.
Yes, in my eyes, these rumors fit into the picture of a severely disturbed person who is not longer able to "square the circle" of cognitive dissonance vs. (whatever she felt she couldn't let go of . eg. lifestyle probably a prenup which might have taken away her motherly rights in case she leaves him?).
And so on. It is utterly disgusting, and this family is one of the worst in the scale of "dysfunctional".

Ash, don't forget that when Prem and Marilyn got married HR was 16 and she was 24. Illegal in many states and since he didn't have his mom's permission, a judge had to approve the wedding! Maybe she was twisted from the start. We have heard from Prem's own mouth that his father was an abuser. Maybe the senior Rawat was also a sexual deviant. It wouldn't surprise me.
I haven't heard about Marolyn having a brain tumor. Years ago she had an aneurysm that left her physically diminished. I believe after this she moved into the beach house. This was maybe ten years ago. A premie that posted here as Master talked about visiting her several times.
So the only innocent people I see here are the children.

I think I heard (or learned about) the rumour about her problems in the brain a lot earlier than 10 years ago. My first time being around here reading and postsing was in the early 2000s, and I left not later than 2011 (or so) because in that year I had to live through a traumatic 'end of relationship' thing and then for many years, had to deal with PTSD. So, 10 years ago from now would have been 2013/14 .... that does not fit with what I went through during these years. An aneurysm vs. a brain tumor however, would also fit. A brain condition always is very serious, therefore it doesn't make such a big difference, both are serious and can possibly be detrimental or even, lethal. But after all, all the details are not important and don't make a big difference to our main topic here.

When I post these "musings" they aren't meant to be an excuse or trivialisation in any way - moreover they are my own way of processing information especially, when this info is so sickening that you think 'you can't eat as much as you need to vomit'.
After all, having gone on the path of becoming a spiritual being striving for "going to heaven" or at least, bringing out the absolut best in me 50 years ago, and over the years having developed a rather strict code of ethics for myself, I just NEED to gain at least a glimpse of understanding of what might have been going on in the other person(s). Nothing else. And to develop a certain degree of understanding seems necessary for me in order to not freak out completely and run amok.
The behaviour in itself is AS despicable as it would have been without my 'understanding' of the facts. [This is the reason why I e.g. would never have wanted to be a criminal defense lawyer, because I always had the goal to keep as far away as possible from all the lowlife type of people a lawyer has to deal with.]
And, trying to understand what's going on in people and why, is part of my inner nature and the reason why I chose to become a school teacher (grades 1-4) instead.

It meant so much to me years ago to have your steadfast support. I know it can't have been easy to decide to write this.
Like everything you write, you describe not just the facts but the emotions around them very well.
I would like to point out, that if one browses his current websites images of him with children are not rare.

1. The following exchange of text messages occurred on December 7 and December 18, 2019:
Person 1: "That sounds good. But what about moving forward and letting people within the foundation and organization know what your parents did?"
Person 2: "I feel we need to be very intelligent and stragic there..."
Person 1: "You guys need to be honest."
Person 1 is Shana Noel Rawat, daughter-in-law of Prem and Marolyn Rawat. Shana stated that Person 2 is Wadi (Premlata Rawat Hudson).
2. In early April, 2023, Shana (posting as Malibu) posted on this forum that "Its a fact that family members and many others know that Both Marolyn and Prem are pedophiles with child sexual abuse victims." Shana made that post more than three years after the above exchange of text messages. 3. A Prem Rawat promotional video entitled "Behind the Message," often referred to as the "coffee shop video," was" released by Timeless Today very near to the time Shana made her above post in early April, 2023 and, again, more than three years after the above exchange of text messages.
4. Shana stated that "One daughter later asked the victim her brother if $100,000 would be enough." (Shana also stated that the offer had been declined.) Given such an elevated level of activity, it seems reasonable to assume that far more than we know of has been unfolding over a long period of time.
5. Based on 1) the above exchange of text messages; 2) Shana's early April 2023 "family members and many others know" post and the release of "Behind the Message" near the same time and more than three years after the above exchange of text messages; 3) Shana's statement in No. 4 above; and 4) my assumption of far more than we know of unfolding... I have no doubt that Prem and Marolyn were fully aware of rumors, the high likelihood of rumors or even actual disclosures of parental molestation in that family that were circluating at the time "Behind the Message" was released.
I do not know if the release was in any way connected to or motivated by any of the above, but it certainly raises my suspicions.
6. Subsequent to all of this, 1) Shana has attempted to corroborate her early April 2023 post, solidly in my opinion, with additional statements on Facebook; and 2) in the opening post of this thread, Anth Ginn strongly supported her statements with his account of something so disturbing that I can't repeat it.
Something certainly occurred behind the message that surely must have been weighing heavily on Prem and Marolyn at the time "Behind the Message" was released.
7. I once again draw attention to "Behind the Message," first posted by Susan in May, 2023:
Through the lens of 1) beyond promotion, was there any other motive behind the video; 2) was there an unusual or compelling reason to bring Marolyn back into public view after such a lengthy absence; and 3) why was there so much focus on "the kids," I encourage anyone interested to view it (or view it again) and draw your own conclusions. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Having viewed it several times through that lens, I couldn't help noticing subtle shades of distraction and uncharacteristically pensive, drifting eyes. There was something uncomfortable about it. Moreover, Marolyn's efforts to extol her husband's piloting skills and his fatherly attention to "the kids" birthdays (who are now in their forties) struck me as overwrought, incongruent with the contemporary message and perhaps even a bit anxious. She seemed to be grasping for legitimacy and examples of good parenting. Why now and after such a lengthy absence?
Beyond observing this cult from the surface aspect of Prem Rawat's relationship with his followers, I have come to recognize that it comprises a vast interconnected social network and the very core and foundation of the lives of those followers. It was certainly all that and more when I was a follower.
That is why, in addition to its effects on the victims and the cult's attempts to discredit, ostracize and smear the truth tellers, I am deeply saddened by Prem's grip on his followers and the potentially devastating effects the disclosure of parental molestation may have on them. Yet, for their sake, the truth must come out.
The following comments beneath "Behind the Message" were presumably made by such followers:
• "What a lovely conversation in which our hearts melt listening to them."
• "I hope every woman gets a loving husband like him. Every child gets a responsible father like him and every lost soul gets a teacher like him."
• "I just melted as Prem asked that the film crew be included in hot chocolate."
• "Abundant filling presence in our hearts when we see him. Beautiful family."
• "How beautiful beyond words."

My first response was similar, surely not!
Yet we've known for years that Rawat is a liar, a fraud, a con and a bully. A lifetime of inappropriate behaviour. So why were we reluctant to accept even more inappropriate behaviour?
Perhaps we were still giving him some benefit of the doubt? Many of us spent the best of our youth under his influence, and some of us had, at least occasionally, some very happy times. And he often seemed at least more benign than other famous cult leaders.
He's a lying manipulative cult leader, but he's OUR cult leader...

Yes, he had a sadistic streak about him. I had heard while I was living in the ashram all the way back then how he abused people for fun, it seemed Milky especially. (I need to point out that this is hearsay, since I heard it from someone who I am pretty sure was not a witness).
I don't really know much about pedophilia, but I always understood it to be a specific compulsion, so not directly associated with liar, fraud, con and bully. And with your own kids, it is just a special kind of sickness.
But maybe it does all fit together. Because his other meanness perhaps does reflect on abuse he himself had experienced and was passing it on. Who the hell knows, but we are all born babies and something makes us into what we become. And if you are sexually abused as a child, perhaps that tends to make you into one as well.

There are lots of articles about people who commit acts of child sexual abuse, the terminology is debated. But definitely there are different types abusers.
I know my mind went to that article and that it had been in the Miami Herald that he had sexually humiliated adult followers. Apparently in a group. He watched as they “poked each other’s penises with sticks”. This got published in the Miami Herald.
Again, I read that and it shook me up that maybe Jagdeo was less isolated than it appeared. That’s why my trip to the Miami Herald at 17.
I do, want to clarify something. It’s very important. While most child sexual abusers were abused as children, most abused children do not become abusers.

As always from you Susan, all really thoughtful insights and perspectives. So now that got me to think about it some more this morning.
Starting from the bottom: yes of course most victims don't become abusers. Than 1/6 statistic is crazy but doesn't surprise me. I myself was somewhat sexually abused as a child and I know plenty of other people. This is a whole crazy topic in itself, but not for here.
Back to Prem. As many other people here, I have been participating in this forum on and off for over 20 years. In that time I speculated about what Prem might really be like. From a young age he was surrounded by people fawning over him and he had a kind of unlimited power and privilege over them. And who knows what went on in private. His mother seemed super domineering for one thing.
Not to justify anything of course, but just to try and understand it. Such a deadly combination of ultimate power but probably also a sad and lonely private life as well. So this corrupts him and turns him into a sociopath. That we all knew already. And now we find out even worse.
But is seems like a specific pathology that happens to people like this. People who have extreme external privilege and private hardship. Of course just, like sexual abuse, it doesn't turn them all into monsters. But if you think about it, Prem is not the only one like this. Warren Jeffs, who is also second generation, seems to have similar traits.
And then what about the original charismatic psychopaths who start these cults? In this case it would be Hans, which we don't know a lot about. But it seems like with other ones that we do know about, it is never just about money. They seem to crave power and once they get it they just push past all borders. Like it is some kind of validation of their power that they can literally do whatever they want. What they lack in genuine magical powers they make up for in psychological, physical and sexual abuse of their followers.
And with our second generation Prem it isn't so different. The easy money at some point becomes boring to them and they need to find other ways to make themselves feel mighty. I don't know. I am just rambling right now, but I think there is something to this.
I am reminded of something Dettmers said about Prem wanting to have sex with other women. Dettmers said, "Well let's get some call girls." But Prem didn't want that. He wanted to abuse his followers, where there was the power dynamic. Where they would be subservient in a way that you can't pay a call girl for. This already is really awful if you really think about it. The damage that he must have caused and essentially wanted to cause in these women. Seriously evil, even though I don't like using that term.
Yet still, abusing your own children ... what is that about? What dies in someone that makes them do this?
It would seem that he is not a "real" pedophile in the sense that he can only get sexual arousal from children. Otherwise he would not have chased after women. It was just about the power. He wanted to control everything and everyone around him.

Child molester: A child molester is someone who commits the crime of child molesting. They may or may not be sexually attracted to prepubescent children.Pedophile: A pedophile is a sexual attraction to prepubescent children. If they don't act on their attraction in a criminal manner, they are not a child molester.
So the better term for what Prem is being accused of is being a child molester, based on current information.

One part of it said that it’s common for people, even law enforcement, to use “pedo” interchangably even if there is a distinction between the medical/legal use of the word.
I am glad you brought it up Aunt Bea because it provides a way to detract focus from child sexual abuse to focus on whether or not something qualifies as pedophilia.
I am as interested in examining the psychology of cult leaders as the next person. Prem Rawat has been called a cult leader by experts in the field since the 1970s. He is a public figure and this is clearly a matter of public interest and public safety. He is the one who presents his Peace Education Program as being in schools around the world, at the Summit County Court of Public Pleas, at probation officer conferences, in prisons….it would be relevant without that, but with that, it’s a matter of public interest.

I can't know how they present themselves to these organizations. I find it hard to fathom that schools and a court system don't at least "google" any organization that offers an education program for use. Certainly, you would hope, these poor souls know what they are endorsing because obviously they know they are being recorded giving these glowing endorsements.

I've read a little further.  Here's an excerpt.
Morally Indiscriminate In the author's experience, this is a growing category of child molesters. He lies, cheats, or steals whenever he thinks he can get away with it. .... The incestuous father or mother might be this morally indiscriminate offender."
There was another bit where he talks about couples, where the woman is involved too and this happening more than we imagine. It's heart wrenching.

Shana first contacted me in 2019 after reading what a. and I had left on EPO, “please contact us if you know anything”
She’s not the only person who has ever reached out. But the most unexpected. I didn’t even know Hans was married before I put the name in Google not even knowing what she might have to say. I quickly realized this was Hans’ wife.
I quite literally was shaking after talking to her. Sick to my stomach. Anxious for their safety. Confused. She said I deserved to know because of trying so hard to report Jagdeo to Guru Maharaj Ji. And how that was handled. At that point, I only shared with people who had an obligation not to repeat it. For my safety and their safety. Not an easy thing to know.
When I was a premie, recall I was a young teen. I was so enchanted by the images of Premlata and Hans - sometimes Navi on stage. I think Daya was born around the time I left. A premie friend used to give me Daya hand me downs after her daughter outgrew them. (years after I left)
I had the softest of soft spots for those kids. I see it all now as a manipulation and image crafting. Of course I didn’t know them at all.
In high school I did an art project for class project and was a black and white charcoal of Hans looking out a window at a festival. I found the magazine I got that photo for the project from- in Prem Bio’s collection.
Shana’s been collecting some physical Divine Times and Elan Vitals she finds on EBay. When I visited them I stood with Shana and Hans and we all looked at a magazine for a moment. It was such a surreal experience. Looking at this relic from my childhood and his with the man who was that baby in the photos

Not having a maternal bone in my body, I thought the kids were cute, but had no emotional connection with them. I know many that did.
Sad. Sad that evil was inflicted on those innocent lives. And how many more are there?
I know that the X-rated premies are all bound by non disclosure agreements. But there must be some out there not bound by contracts. I hope there are some others that will come forward like Anth. I think Shana said it is well known what they have done.
I challenged premies to come forward that have realized k. Now, I challenge premies in the know to expose the LOTU as a mere mortal whose feet are made of clay. Rotten perverted clay.
