Just saw a comment on a FB thread that Prem Rawat mentioned David Passes in Amaroo. My feeling is:

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhh!!!!

I so nearly turned into the stereo typical angry ex-p on that thread but managed to restrain myself - just.

RIP David x

I haven't been here for ages. Sending best wishes to all xx

Newdawn (almost 4 years out!)

Hi Newdawn,

personally I find Facebook one long arrggghhhhhh.  And I'd forgotten about Amaroo but I guess it must be on around now.  I don't think ex-premies are much of a force on facebook are they.

Hope all is going well.  xox

Thanks Lesley, yes FB is a bit of a yawn! There is one fairly recent ex who posts quite regularly about his exit. I follow with a little bit of intrigue to see the reactions from premies, wondering if any drips are falling through the threads. Hope life is treating you well x

blimey that's brave!  do any premies respond to him?

what is fascinating is the way that denial has such a huge impact on us all.  Just recently I read a news story about a sight impaired man in his 80's.  He was lonely and he met this woman in her 50's at a casino, she became his carer.

His friend, who was also his guardian, said about him that he quickly came to think of his carer as his girlfriend and so he couldn't say anything critical about her to him at all without him becoming angry and upset.

It went the predictable route - when he went into the nursing home the carer fleeced him rotten while not paying his bills.

Like with gurus, there was no justice available for the blind old man.  He'd sign the blank cheques when she visited him but then he got moved out of his nice room.  He woke up to the recognition she had deceived him before he died.  His friend was able to get a settlement from the bank, enough to pay his bills.

I so remember being a teenager and hearing the oldies saying it's a cruel world and thinking whaat? that seems a bit hard core, how can you think that!

but there isn't, there isn't justice for victims of deception, it's just a barrel of laughs isn't it, buyer beware.  And yet on an individual level, who really feels like that nobody not even the deceivers.  Certainly not Mr Rawat who chucked a paddy when he had to wait longer than he wanted for his new car to arrive.

For premies, it's been a long and winding road now.  I only wish them well in their waking up from the guru's deception - it will happen when it does.

Sorry for delay replying

Yes it is brave isn't it. A lot of premies do comment and he has started quite a few charged discussions on there. He was one of the earlies I think and was in the cult for a really long time. He remains friendly and respectful to the posters.

Yes the further I am out of it the less I can see justice anywhere. I had a wonderful few years of what felt like utter liberation after the first 18 months of hell, post-exit. Just recently I got let down by someone though and realised the 18 years spent being fleeced of my critical thinking is still taking its toll. Still, I won't wallow godammit. I've finally got a job I truly enjoy, just a start but it means a lot, I've dealt with the demons at the door, I've clawed back quite a bit of self esteem and yknow life goes on doesn't it?

Take care xx

I didn't know Dave Passes, but someone I know did. I asked for the story and it was this. He was best man at prem's wedding and a writer. Prem had said to him years ago, one day you will be flying in my jet with me and spreading this knowledge bla bla. Decades later he flew to a private meeting with the guru and says remember how you said we would be flying together around the place and I would be writing and spreading this message? M answered its not really like that these days. we have the internet.
Unfortunately not long after Dave committted suicide and left half his will to tprf and half to prem rawat foundation.
A week later tprf got charity status, around the same time peeps were getting emails asking them to 'exercise your free will' by clicking here and leaving your bequest.
There was a lot of conjecture about why he chose to kill himself. people said he had a life threatening illness, but apparently that is not the case, he had a condition that affected his breathing for 35-40 years , a discomfort and a malady but not the reason to give up completely.
No doubt the part that prem was highlighting at amaroo was the exercise your own free will part. Sickening

'exercise your own free will' meaning give me your money when you die (and I will give you such a peace as will never die?)

the deeply black irony of it.

yes, deeply dark and sinister.
It occurred to me today if the world really isn't like that anymore because we have the internet why is prem bothering to fly all around the place polluting the planet with green house gases and just Hot Air in general?
Must need a mini break with the mistress i guess.....

We might be talking about the same person newdawn? I have several premie and ex-premie friends and often get into discussion/argument with them. The latest one included several premies protesting that they are not in a cult! I just feed a few things into the mix and hope something might stick. I also quite like keeping up with his latest moves. He has lost some weight but still looks awful. His latest trick seems to be getting photographed with ordinary people. The, not an, but THE Ambassador for peace..my arse.

Bleughh...I sometimes wonder whether I should remove all the people who post his face on my FB feed but I'm past the triggering. I confess the most part of me isn't even curious anymore. I suppose to have reached indifference is some measure of success? Lord knows. I couldn't help but publically advise a premie FB-friend on a comment thread, to book a luxury holiday next time, when she reported her melancholic upset at being denied a refund for her amaroo ticket. She is a sweet lady and by all accounts not a wealthy one. I found myself thinking,

'What fuckers.'
