You were maybe angry, sad, disappointed, shaken, uncertain - having to re-evaluate everything, and then you take a stand here. Say your piece. It took me a while. It's quite something to recognise it was a cult, that you were duped and then say it in public. We still had friends in the cult, who still believed, and we were saying what they believed was rubbish after all. We were taking a step from live and let live to being judgmental, pointing out errors in thinking, painting someone deemed holy as unholy.

It was a big step.

For Susan and others abused, it was a step even further. It was more personal. The accusations made are enormous and serious and personal, and as so often, it's one word against another. Speaking out is risking being up against flat out denial. Being portrayed as deluded, a trouble-maker, an attention-seeker. 

And yet she and others have spoken out.

And then there's Shana. With all of that and even more. It's her family she's speaking out against, with huge accusations, against someone held by many in the highest esteem. Imagine if Rawat is properly exposed and many of his followers turn away. The adoration is limited to a few crazies who just can't stop. The money stops. The huge estates have to be sold. The jet has to go. The lifestyle of Rawat and his team is just kicked away. The repercussions, the anger...

I'm just saying, really, I want to express huge respect for Shana and Susan and others. 

It's real courage. Something to emulate.
