Well the mods had to go back and read their own rules. We all thought that there was a rule of no political posts. After checking, we see that there isn't, or isn't anymore at least. Based on past forum experience, we have a natural paranoia of such posts because they can get nasty really fast and the discussions can take over the forum. So far this hasn't happened, so perhaps we are overreacting.

The rules as they stand about off topic posts are as follows:

Off topic posts:-

Occasionally discussions lead into other topics. These posts should include (OT) in the subject line. Please keep off topic posts to a minimum, and definitely do not start any off-topic threads. How this forum is managed, and any discussion of politics, are considered off-topic on this forum. There are countless other forums available on the internet for off-topic discussions.

We can leave it at that for now. If political posts become a problem, then we will have to prohibit such posts though, which everyone can probably understand.

Okay carry on at will then.

Ha!

Well, obviously you took my advice and practiced Dr Weils meditation and chilled out.

Steve and Joe, you were right and I was wrong.

Anth- (typing with eyes closed) how many do you count up to before you can breathe again?

THUD!

Thank you, mods, for responding to what could have become a general malaise

If you can keep the trolls away, I'm sure we collectively can deal with conversations that occasionally veer off topic - hopefully without the need for deleting our posts.

Treat people as adults, and they're more likely to behave like adults. Treat them like naughty kids ... you know how it goes.

In fact, when I think of the number of exes who no longer post here because they consider (whether rightly or wrongly) that the past deletion/censorship of their posts "forced" them into a position of no longer contributing to this forum - ... well, I hope the common sense that is at present prevaling re. "moderating" the posts of the many contributors here (thinks ... "moderating" sounds awfully PC, no? hasn't it come to mean "censoring"?) - continues to respond to the current reality that exists for exing premies, exed premies and those who still identify with being premies.

Hope that makes some kind of sense.
