Two expressions of love posted on the premiesreunited.com website. So far these are the only expressions that have been posted. Worship of Rawat as a deity seems to be alive and well in premie land. I wonder why, after over 30 years of this, Mr. Rawat doesn't finally put a stop to this if this isn't what his message is supposed to be about.

My heart has taught me to feel each breath as it teaches me to live. Quietly each breath fills me with the opportunity to smile at the incredible joy that is my life. Beloved, you have with compassion touched my heart and made it your own. Your touch has lifted me into the world of my living breath were wisdom is my foundation and devotion my action.

Each breath brings me into contact with my Beloved. How, attractive each breath has become now that I know it is where we meet. I am touched with your loving breath and my body is filled with waves of joy and my tears cannot help themselves.

It is so amazing that wherever we are we can keep in touch with websites, email, DVDs, cassettes, CDs and music. And of course that direct connection with Him through the heart. I always feel taken care of and I thank Him so much. Hearing that he said at Amaroo he was planning places where elderly premies could go and be looked after I cried. He thinks of everything.......
Thanks for this website. An added means of saying thankyou.

After all these years, it's astonishing that premies take these sort of announcements by Rawat seriously. But after 35 years, if he feels that looking after elderly premies is something he should do, why isn't he already doing it? Surely his knowledge is for people of all ages, and always has been, so many premies must already be retired. Has he not been planning for them? And if he is only planning for the young 70s premies who are now approaching retirement, I wonder what criteria will determine entry to these retirement homes? Level of devotion? Smart Card? Money? And who will decide? Rawat personally? A panel of mahatmas or similar? Or will it be like receiving Knowledge is now - that the retiree decides for him or herself?

Should be interesting to watch how this unfolds. Hey, I've just realised - premies will be asked to fund these retirement communities through fundraising drives, and when there won't be enough raised, the project can be cancelled. And it doesn't even have to be cancelled publicly, because Rawat doesn't have to tell anyone where these homes are, how many there are, or who is living in them.

Oh, such fun.

This whole retirement village line of bullshit is truly despicable. The naive premies are led to believe that their "reward" for devoting themselves to Rawat their entire lives is - wait for it -  a space age, modular hi-tech apartment of the future! - for free!

Hey premies, are any of you out there interested in investing in a bridge I'm selling? I'll give you a really good price. It's a really high volume bridge that connects Manhatten and Brooklyn.

Like most of the 70's prems I know, I didn't plan for the future. We were encouraged to live for the moment and put all our money or energy (most of us didn't have both) towards supporting DLM/EV.

I don't believe in the LOTU any more, but given my lack of worldy investments, I might still need a shelter. Think I'll qualify, or should I work on another plan? Maybe M will be providing pensions for all of those who worked for nothing in those days....

I've already tracked you to someplace north of Lithuania, so the EV men in black can't far behind. You've now dropped a serious clue: "...between the Latvian swamps and forest." How many swamps and forests can there be in a small country? The noose is closing.

The Caz person from above seems to be the same person who submitted a letter on the pwkindia BLOG. Will posted something from there e a few weeks ago. At the time I noticed this other letter and it really stuck in my head, mainly because of one sentence:

He then went on to say that if we (including myself) are full of our own ideas we cannot help him - we will just get in the way. Wow! What a blast.

This sentence is in bold and several points larger for emphasis. It reminds me exactly of the kind of things we used to say back in the late 70's. Reading it today and realising that things don't seemed to have changed at all in the minds of pwk is gobsmacking. By the way, the person who Caz is quoting as saying this, one Prashant from Goa, seems to be some kind of honcho.

So let me get this straight. The only person who's ideas have any merit with regards to propagation or anything else concerning Prem Rawat's so-called mission is Prem Rawat. From printing flyers to renting exclusive presidential suites, the rest of us just don't have a clue and if we try to offer our own creative input we will just get in the way. The best a poor pwk can hope for is to be a non-thinking drone who just follows the words of the master, who ALWAYS knows best.

He goes on:

Then Maharaji talked - many many things we were told but the essence. He said it was like he was in a fort and could look out and see down the line - that we couldn't see but he had a vision for 2005-6 to share.

A prayer I could have said in 1978 that would be just as valid today: Oh my Master Prem Rawat, let me be nothing but a vessel for your will, your wisdom and your grace. Alone I am confused. My crazy mind will only lead me astray and become an obstacle for you in your work.

Don't let me think for myself, heaven forbid I should have my own ideas about something, just let me be a good worker bee.

Oh no, it's not a cult anymore.

And of course if Prem is vague enough with his direction, which he will be, and things don't work out as planned, which they won't, then it will naturally be the premies' fault once (again) because they were thinking for themselves (again).

Here is the entire post from the pwkindia journal:

Letter from Caz from U.k. who lives in Manali, himachal pradesh, north india.
Met Prashant in the Goa ashram during the winter and asked him to come to Manali to help here as apart from me and one Swedish guy there are no premies here. He couldn't come after Holi but I had a phone call from him a couple of weeks ago and he was coming to Delhi for a conference with Maharaji. He arrived a week ago at 4.30 in the morning and he, Pema (Swedish premie) and I sat drinking chai while he told us about the event. It started with one of the Indian's from RVK talking about propagation and asking people for suggestions. There were plenty of ideas! Then he stopped everyone and asked them to read their invitation card. It said it was a conference for Maharaji to share his vision with them!

He then went on to say that if we (including myself) are full of our own ideas we cannot help him - we will just get in the way. Wow! What a blast.

Then Maharaji talked - many many things we were told but the essence. He said it was like he was in a fort and could look out and see down the line - that we couldn't see but he had a vision for 2005-6 to share. He said That it was essential to step up propagation - in India he said from 20% to 60%. He said that at the moment we are spending too much time on venue's and then having small audiences. He wants only 20% of our time to go on finding venues and 80% on propagation.

I wonder where they went. There were several premies there a quarter of a century ago, mainly supporting themselves in the exotic substance export trade. Manali is to Acapulco gold as Nepalese temple balls are to .......shit, I've forgotten what I was going to say.

Anyway, these guys were of an obliterated generation of premies, i.e the ones who got into it in India in 1969/70 & never became famous as founding fathers. Meeting a few of them in England in the late '70's, they were definitely outsiders of the cult mentality as it then was, but still devotees.

Joe has noted the evolution of the cult very well, through its different phases, but spare a thought for the aboriginals who were excluded as soon as Rawat took his 1st holiday in London. Their story has not been told. They were spat out in the ruthless drive for power, wealth, & priviledge, which is the cornerstone of the Rawat religion.

'They were spat out in the ruthless drive for power, wealth, & priviledge, which is the cornerstone of the Rawat religion.'

Actually, the drive for anything at all within Maharism is really connected with the ad hoc feelings or reactions of Prem at any one time.

There is nothing more deep or intelligent or really debatable than that.

Every swing within the system is nothing more than keeping up with Prem's particular feelings of the time.

I like your quote about power, wealth and privilege because it conjures up the notion of an elite of not totally unintelligent premie core boogying it up at Daya's at Amaroo, maybe touching the children, and feeling they are part of some Master race.

Needless to say, the whole notion is so nerdy and, well, sublimely pretty stupid, that any reasonable person would really honk at this.

But - it does exist.

At the same time, those who can't attend because of pauperdom or just lack of reasonable funds, could be regarded by the attendees (brushing Daya's diaphonous garmentry) as poor sods, who can't well, hack it, somehow.

Needless to say, this is all too completely trashily stupid by any notion whatever of a spiritual nature.

The hoi polloi believe there is maybe still an underlying truth of beauty and democracy of awareness found through simple practice of the meditation techniques, and they are not actually wrong IMO.

Sure, there is a power within which IMO is immortal, quite personal and loving, and which can be found through meditation.

The problem was when Prem went outside the loop through his own desires and sometimes having to bury these from observation of others.

But it still happens that this internal power still exists, and is still there for us all.

Through the murky eyes of Maharajism which we all experienced - so well and truly beautifully in so many cases - the great bottom line of truth within and accessible still remains, as supremely beautiful as ever - despite the sillinesses sometimes of history, and the failings of personal teachers.

We, who have taken this path and been fucked over slightly should maybe remember that this is still valid and supremely lovely, connected with our own internal conscience, realising that all of the beautiful and truthful realisations remain exactly the same, despite the limitations of any particular teacher.

Best wishes,

Tempora

Could you be a little more specific about "all of the beautiful and truthful realisations?"

I'm one of those who enjoyed SS&M an awful lot but I can't recall any of these realisations.

Milky's line,

"My heart has taught me to feel each breath as it teaches me to live."

calls up a cartoon image of a big bloody heart, holding a small batton, wearing a mortar board (old fashioned schoolteachers hat)in front of a blackboard, saying to Milky, (sitting at a desk in the classroom),

"OK Milky, I'll explain it in another way. Breath in through your nose, or if it's blocked with divine nectar because of your cold, breath through your mouth. That feeling in your chest, that's air going to your lungs that is. Stop breathing and you die. Got it yet?"

Last time I saw Milky he thought he was "God realised", and was telling people (or at least the person I spoke to, who may have been his only disciple) they should "do propagation" and spread the word about his enlightened state. God bless his blissful smile.

Anth, fuck this pasturised bullshit-
