... that messed me up.

This is not a process that happens overnight. It is something that seeps in slowly.
You're not allowed to run. There is no competition.
And if you don't want to go empty-handed, you'd better not be empty-handed right now.

Insidious isn't it. This one complete with the religious overtones of threatened damnation from the it's-not-a-religion leader.

Hi dant, The thing is,if I had not believed that he had something so important to say, I would not have been so affected.
I dont regret giving K and M a sincere effort, I learned and grew alot. I also dont regret leaving.

I agree, Bear.

In order to get sucked into the Rawat cult, you have to accept that Rawat knows something you don't, even though there is ZERO evidence (other than the fact that he has a relatively small number of "students), that is true.

So, if you believe that, you can fall for Rawat's speil:  the promised carrot of a nice experience, followed by the fear or missing out, or worse.  All Rawat essentially does is repeat that over and over, usually not very well.

Hi Joe
The confidence that I had before K is still with me now. Its funny, I remember giving satsang and being so sure that M and I were on the same page. I projected so much of my understanding of my life onto him that it was not fake, it just wasnt his, it was mine.

I'm not sure who wrote this, but it's so true:

Scene one: duration, 10, 20 or 30 years....

Maharaji: : You have to 'realize' knowledge...you can be in the feeling 24 hours a day"

Aspirant wow, yes, I will do anything for that...

Maharaji: You think you can realize knowledge? You never can, you are in your mind, you can only surrender to me!!!

Premie: Oh, ok, thank you M, I am so glad you are here, what would I do without you...

Maharaji: You guys are all incompetent, can't do anything right, let me confuse and abuse you so your brain fries and you are totally insecure..and tell bad, offensive jokes so you lose your sense of what is right and wrong...

Premie becomes ex-premie: huh? ok...this doesn't feel right...I'm outta here.  How did I swallow that for so long?  I'm so glad to be free of that nonsense.
