In the tradition of booking halls on the days of national celebrations so that the hall fee is cheap, and to test the devotion of premies, this event has been announced. For non-UK readers, Nov. 5th is the day in the UK when people stand round a big fire, watch firework displays, and burn an effigy of Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up the government a long time ago. People can choose to celebrate his attempt or the fact that he failed, but for children especially, watching the fireworks is something special. Alternatively, parents can raise money for something called 'Keys'.

John.

So there's a cult member-only video presentation but a gift shop for the masses?  And what's it all for?  Raising money for ........?  No one knows.  No one can say and no one knows.  Lovely.  Have you ever heard of a vaguer, more questionable cause?  I'd rather give my money to some Nigerian internet scam.  At least that way I'd know where it was going.

Imagine bringing your friends for the art sale preview at 3:30, and then leaving them for the private viewing of the cult videos between 4 and 5:30 pm, while they wait for the auction at 6 pm! What better way to tell your friends:-

'I'm in a cult'!

.......Ugh! Cringe......reminds me of the years I spent my Saturdays working for free , selling stuff or helping with the organisation of  fundraising sales in Chelsea Town Hall......there was some fun to be had but in the end it was all so horribly exploitative.....and spoilt by my own anxious premie mindset ( apart from anything else!)sigh

If I were still living in London I would attend this event (out of curiosity and for the expurgation of my false memories by seeing the whole scam for what it really is).........I wonder if "Dorri" from the Isle of Wight donated her photos.....?

Personally I think longstanding premies have sacrificed far too much for far too long and I don't understand how they are STILL shamelessly being asked to "donate" stuff and buy stuff etc ....EURGH ! and to have to listen to that smooth and slimey ,womanising creep Yoram Weiss in some kind of a keep-the-premies happy, money-raking-in double act with Raja Ji......is there no end to this phoney insanity ? !

What a pair of clowns.
Jim says - And what\'s it all for? Raising money for ........? No one knows. No one can say and no one knows. Lovely. Have you ever heard of a vaguer, more questionable cause? I\'d rather give my money to some Nigerian internet scam. At least that way I\'d know where it was going.
ore questionable cause? I\'d rather give my money to some Nigerian internet scam. At least that way I\'d know where it was going.

The ad for ART4KEYS, let me repeat that ART4KEYS, says (not suprisingly) - All proceeds will support the Keys.

I say - With Jim\'s proven inability to see what is right in front of him, I\'m not suprised he missed so much of Maharaji\'s meaning and made up so much of his own.

JHB says - imagine bringing your friends for the art sale preview at 3:30, and then leaving them for the private viewing of the cult videos between 4 and 5:30 pm, while they wait for the auction at 6 pm! What better way to tell your friends:-

\'I\'m in a cult\'!

I say - No John, you\'re just dumb. But back to your post.
Premies don\'t see things the way you and Jim do. You see nothing, they see a number of possibilities. They see it like this -
a) if you just want to see Yoram and Raja Ji come at 4.
b) if you want to see Yoram and Raja Ji and look at the art come at 3.30 or stay after the event.
c) if you want to see Yoram and Raja Ji and invite guests, you come at 4 and invite your guests to meet you there at 5.30.

It is staggering that two educated adults are so blinded by their prejudice that they cannot comprehend such a simple scenario.
There is no other explanation follks.
They are so addicted to finding fault with Maharaji and premies, that they (and many others) have said good bye to reason a long, long time ago.

At least Lexy admits - there was some fun to be had but in the end it was all (so horribly exploitative.....and) spoilt by my own anxious (premie) mindset.

You should all be hearing alarm bells about Jim and John.

Reporter,

Whether Rawat continues his scam depends on a very simple formula -  income exceeding costs means he continues - costs exceeding  income means the whole shebang crumbles.

Like any other business Rawatism requires the commitment of a minimum number of customers - its critical mass. Exactly what that critical mass is depends upon the quality of the customers - for Rawat a few very rich and generous customers would do as well if not better than a cohort of low income drones. The problem for Rawat is that his inclination is to operate as though the very rich, the Delaskis, the Pascottos, Sordonis et al were his personal pension and the whole TPRF/EV/RVK operation has to run on what the drones provide. And it is the drones - the 10% of income donors - who are fast disappearing.

Rawat was forced to give up Serenity - probably to plug the Amaroo money pit - the first time in thirty years he has had to deal with retrenchment. Tthe $4million per annum cost of the GSV is a constant drain and quite simply unless there is a minimum number of contributing western premies the $10million plus annual cost of the TPRF/EV/RVK operation will not be met..

Retirement, ill health, old age, death are all taking a toll on Rawat's drones and once the number falls below the critical mass costs will rapidly overwhelm income. Is Rawat going to use his personal wealth to carry on the business ? Very unlikely - selling Serenity was forced on him because of the high level of indebtedness in his personal 'investments' and the looming legal embarrassment of the Myrine set up. Myrine has been dumped on TPRF - with no evidence that Myrine has any market value. If this is any indication then there's probably a major operation underway to secure all Rawat's personal assets from any further unpleasant retrenchment demands.

My guess is that within five years John will get his wish - Rawatism as an active cult will indeed 'go away'.

Nik

Hi reporter,

Could you please explain this sentence, "All proceeds will support the Keys."

What does it mean? Haven’t the Keys already been recorded on DVD? Why would they need supporting? And how do you "support" inanimate objects that have already been created?

And if the Keys were given "support" how would they spend it?

Honestly reporter, where do you think the money really goes and why doesn't EV just come out and say it?

The problem is the premies, let alone the public, never get to find out how the money is spent, nor how much is spent.

So, if Elan Vital spends $200,000 to "lease" the Gulfstream Jet from a company Rawat controls, in other words from himself, and then pays Rawat $100,000 to fly said plane to some "event" in which the "keys" are discussed, or whatever, and then say it also pays his $2000 per night hotel room, related cognac and mistress expenses and the rest, well, if they actually spent the money that way, the premies and the public would NEVER know.

So, you see, saying the money is being  raised for "the keys" says nothing.  It's like money for "propagation," or for "events" or for "publications," and the rest.  Since there is zero transparency, what is raised for "the keys" is a matter of definition, which can be very expansive.

One of the principles of being a premie is to donate money and just have immense faith that it is being spent for something you agree with, or rather, that whatever it is spent on is perfect, because Prem Rawat is in control, and Prem Rawat is the Perfect Master/incarnation of God/Superior Power in Person/Lord of the Universe.  Right?  Very simple.  Do not think.

When considering the costs of flying Raja Ji and Yoram to the UK, and other costs while they're here, what money pot do those expenses come out of? Who pays for that? EV? Maharaji? And how much does it all come to?

May be they both have full time jobs to support themselves, and give of their 'fund raising' services and their time for free. So they pay their own way when they do these tours.

I wonder if any of those questions are covered in the EV website FAQ's

I live way out in the sticks, quite a long way from Central London and if I'm going to drive all the way up there with my guests and find a car park that won't need a second mortgage to park in, where shall I tell my guests to go while I spend an hour and a half listening to Yoram Weiss and Raja Ji?

It's pretty cold out at that time of year and I did so want to make my guests' Bonfire Night a special one they'd remember when they go back home to Vietnam.  Do you think I can get them to hang around Leicester Square for an hour or so?

I mean, it seems likely that the special event with these two chums will have alot to do with the ART4KEYS fundraising efforts. Kind of like a behind the scenes look at what the money is going to. Seems only appropriate that the people who might want to bid for the art would like to know where their money is going to. Who knows, it might even encourage them to bid more? What is there to keep a secret about?

Good one, Dant! Yes, why is the meeting for premies only? Why the secrecy? It's not as if the oh-so-secret meditation techniques will be discussed, as premies never discuss them. So why wouldn't guests be able to observe how TPRF raises money for the, in Reporter's view, worthwhile cause of teaching people inner peace through videos and meditation?

Reporter, we would be interested in your answer.

Regarding your post above - if you arrange to meet your guests at 5:30 pm., and attend the video and fundraising presentation at 4 pm., it would still look odd that you had to go early. Imagine if your guests lived nearby and suggested sharing a car or travelling together. How do you explain that you are attending a private meeting first, without it looking like you are a member of some secret group?

John.

Reporter,

I know the money's supposedly to support the Keys.  Like, duh, dude.  But as Steve points out, what the hell does that really mean anyway?  The Keys themselves is nothing but hyper-secretive, vacuous cult programming and the idea of supporting them is unexplained at best.  Perhaps it's time for another pie chart, eh?

LOL!!

...I suppose I should stir myself from the torpor reading your post generates in me......and reply......hoping ( but I'm not holding my breath...ha ha ) that by some miracle you might understand.

"At least Lexy admits - there was some fun to be had but in the end it was all (so horribly exploitative.....and) spoilt by my own anxious (premie) mindset."

What I meant was....had I been released from my subservience to the Lord of the Universe and the accompanying baggage of trying to be a good devotee and doing "service" conscientiously just as my lord had instructed me to, I could have just done whatever I wanted to and that would have been far more fun, believe me.Everything was spoilt by the huge responsibility of " practising the knowledge" and doing it right. What a f###ing burden.....That was a large part of my anxiety, Reporter. I'm just shaking it off now but it has a tendency to stick after all these years as  I've forgotten how I used to live without it. Some of the "service" I did as a premie I really would have enjoyed if it hadn't been for the anxiety.I wish I had just hung around and pretended to be a premie.

I am learning to live in a new world now....free.... and to have proper friendships, just like I used to before I ever heard of the guru.
