Re: NikW:
"William, Navi Rawat has been referred to several times in the past year or so on the forums - each time there has been a consensus toward the following:" As I said in my original post "Forgive me if this has already been discussed on this board." NikW: "Ms Rawat was never a premie, she has done nothing to support or promote the cult and she had no say in who her parents were." William: That is of no concern to me whatsoever. I am merely curious about her past upbringing and her family life. I have not seen her since she was a small child back in the 1970s, after she was born to Claudia and Raja Ji. NikW: "Your point about family stability is irrelevant" William: I don't need you to tell me if it is relavent or not. It is relavent to me, so it is relavent. NikW: " - yes her parents divorced - so what ?" William: So what? NikW: "If Navi Rawat found her mother provided a stable home life then thats great - many single parents do achieve that." William: Again, so what? If you know how she was raised, would you share this information? If not, then please don't fake your way through it, editorialize, or purport some agenda regarding single parents, etc. I don't care about that stuff here. A loving two parent family, with a committed, married mother and father, is the ideal and best environment in which to raise children, of this there is no doubt. Single parents can do well if they are dedicated and commited, loving and caring, and have integrity, but a loving two parent family is best. In a bio, Navi is quoted as being raised in a supportive, stable family. I found that comment to be refreshing. I also liked reading her comments on other issues regarding life, teenagers, growing up, etc. Of course, there was not much in depth information in that bio that I read. I am also aware that her mother and father were divorced quite some time ago, therefore I don't know who the stable and supportive family she is referring is. This does not imply a single mother, but an actual family. My curiousity was piqued and I wanted to know, if Raja Ji appeared to be such a playboy, and if Claudia and Raja Ji were divorced, then how was Navi raised? Where was that stable family, or who is that stable family? Did her mom remarry? I don't remember if Navi had siblings. Did Navi and her mom live with relatives? Did Navi have siblings? NikW "In contrast to Navi Rawat a very different judgement can be made about Prem's children as they appear to benefit significantly from the proceeds of the family business. Both daughters have been associated with the Visions/Eversound set up and Daya certainly has performed in support of her father." William: They had no control over who their parents are any more than Navi had control over who her parents are. I have been curious regarding how Prem Rawat's children are doing if the rumors and accusations about their daddy's cheating on their mommy, not being by mommy's side during her brain disorder, and other pecadillos. What message does daddy treating mommy like that send to these children? How can they get up and support dad in his Knowledge promotion? Word has it that Daya is a very talented singer, or that she has a beautiful voice. I remember at least one comment in which the someone did not agree that she had such a beautiful voice, that her voice was okay but shaky. I have yet to hear her sing, and, since I am not a big fan of Maharaj Ji any longer, I have not been motivated to go to his programs, go to a video show, watch a video, or visit a Maharaj Ji promotion web site, any avenue through which I might hear her sing. In the late 1980s, or early 1990s, in West Chester, NY, Maharaj Ji accused premies of changing the meditation techniques and doing them wrong. He conducted a Knowledge review in which he changed the techniques that for years and years he allegedly sent his Mahatmas, Initiators, and Instructors out to the premies and the aspirants to reveal, all allegedly coached and quality controled by Maharaj Ji himself. If we were doing the techniques the wrong way all those years, how could he not know it? He was the one who managed his mahatmas, instructors, and initiators and the dissimenation of Knowledge. After he told us how to do it and said that we had received and realized Knowledge, then turns around and tells us, many of us who had received Knowledge since the beginning, in the early 1970s, for me it was 1971, that we are doing it wrong and have been doing it wrong all along, that we changed the techniques and were practicing Knowledge wrong all along, then what does that say about our so-called experience of Maharaj Ji through his Knowledge? So all that bliss from the Knowledge was wrong. We did not change the techniques, he did, several times, from 1971, to 1974, to the 1980s and so forth. He could not make up his mind how to do the techniques. Some teacher. He teaches math but later says we are doing it wrong and that we changed the process when we are doing it the way HE said based on the textbooks he sent out and the lessions HE gave. Brilliant! He also could not make up his mind whether dedicating our lives, giving up all, and living in his ashrams, keeping a celebate lifestyle, following a strict vegetarian diet, and speaking mainly "sat sang" and remembering the Name 24/7. First, he repeatedly told us that if we were really dedicated, then we would give up everything and live in his Ashram. Then he denied saying that. Bullshit!!!! In the late 1980s, approximately, he finally tells us that we aren't really supposed to remember the Name 24/7. Great! So I what was I doing listening to you all those 20 years or more? Anyway, I have not taken part in this forum, or forum 7, for quite some time. I don't bother with this stuff, Maharaj Ji, et al, any longer. I am merely following up on a curiosity. This forum seems like a likely place to get the 411 on such trivia. Regarding Navi, when I first saw the advertisement for some new show called something like "Lost Memories," presenting Navi as the star, I did not make the connection. When a premie who still seems to be involved in Maharaj Ji told me that Navi Rawat, the actress is Raja Ji's daughter, I found what has become of someone who is part of the Rawat family tree intriguing. Before I made the connection, when I saw the commercial advertisement for her show, I thought it was rather cool that an Indian actor, or a mixedd race actor, was starring in a program. Regarding Navi, I hope she does well. From what I read about her, she sounds like she has some character and values and I felt good about that. Well, that is enough comment for now. Thanks again for your bit of information. William Modified by William at Fri, Oct 15, 2004, 15:31:55 |
