Open Letter to Randy Prouty:

I heard that Prem used to say,

"Honesty is not the best policy, Devotion is the best policy."

Devotion to what is the question.

Devotion to the truth, that I would agree with.

The Truth shall set you free.

Randy, if you are reading this, or if you hear about it, listen to this:

Many years ago, at my first Darshan, in the late 70's I think, my legs literally buckled and I had to crawl the last 20 feet or so to Prem's feet.  As I was crawling forward, my head down, I felt someone reach out and almost touch my arm and then pull away.  Later, I learned that you were standing next to Prem and you reached out to lift me up and stand me up, and Prem told you not to, and that (according to the story I got from the premie who took me to the 'recovery area') he told you that I loved him more than you did.  I vividly remember that story.  And Randy, if you see this post on this Forum or hear about it, please know that it is I who am speaking to you now, the one who Prem said loved him more than you.

And what I have to say to you, Randy, is to tell the truth to the best of your knowledge about what happened with Susan.  Because Randy, Susan needs and deserves our love and consideration way more than Prem Rawat does.  'Suffer the little children to come unto me', remember, Randy?  Be devoted to the Truth, not to a person.  Then you will have the devotion and the freedom you were looking for all the time.  Everything else is a dead end.  Back in the day, it was different, or so we thought.  But now, Randy, just think...I don't know if you have kids, but if you did, and God forbid, something happened to one of your own flesh and blood like it happened to Susan, and by Jagdeo, can you imagine or feel what you would be feeling if it happened to one of yours, and you got stonewalled like she did?

Because, Randy, it did happen to one of your own.  You were a shepherd for the Great Shepherd, and we were the sheep and the lambs in your flock that you were assigned to look out for.  How in the Holy Name can you forget someone like Susan who you helped with her homework and tried to help her into the ashram?  Maybe if you practice a little meditiation it will all come back to you.

You were always a good guy.  I remember some brief conversations we had.  You had come to Knowledge from a totally 'unspritual/unreligious' place, I remember the contrast in our lives yet we both ended up at his feet.  Now it is time to do a reality check.  All the best to you and yours.  The Truth will really set you free, but you won't feel the freedom until you set the Truth free from within your heart and soul and memory.

Your brother,

San
