Notice how they completely steamroll over the obvious sarcasm. That’s one thing. He said “for a day” - clearly just playing around. 

But then look what they do - cutting off the rest of his answer even to raise some ugly vague specter of what the hell he’s talking about. 

It's all just this:

TRUMP: He says, "You're not gonna be a dictator, are you?" I said no, no, no … other than Day One. We're closing the border and we're drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I'm not a dictator, OK?

And even when Snopes spelled it all out they held back from stating how obviously the media was lying:

Yeah, they said the headlines lacked context. Tell me about it. 

So anyway, there you go. A false claim that fooled you. Mission accomplished 

Now, as for your suggestion that Trump began ruling like a dictator when in office, what in the world are you talking about? Did he weaponize the judiciary and intelligence agencies to frame and destroy his political opponents? You know, like Obama did? Like Biden is now to an unprecedented degree, something no one might have imagined ten years ago? Did he do that? 

Or maybe you don't want to actually consider anything about this rationally, fairly and all that? Why bother?
