I think it might be a Homo sapiens symptom. 

I remember when I first arrived here the discussion was about how it is like breaking up with your boyfriend and I can see that but in terms of scale, and consequent stultification of thought, God beats man hands down.

As a cult member you can't really think about anything at any time at all, it's all in Mr eternal all powerful God's hands and your thoughts are worse than unnecessary, they are in the way.

Ironies happen after you see the lies.  I think of it like a spark igniting off the iron in my soul.  So I went and looked it up in the dictionary to see if that is why it's called irony but it is a greek word of course - eironeia meaning simulated ignorance, they used it in Greek theatre for where the audience knows before the main character does.

So you know, for me irony is a nice thing because it's funny but it sits with so much tragedy it is certainly no laughing matter, it takes it's place amongst the tears.
