What a contrast. Not only did Rawat deny it when the Jagdeo abuse occurred, he continued to deny it a few years ago when the adult survivors came forward.
But, to be fair to Prem Rawat, he's pretty talented at saving his own ass, even when it means not protecting innocent and helpless children from extreme danger. He's also famous for making mistakes by shooting himself in the feet. It's probably because Rawat and his inner circle are so unbelievably stupid.

This sort of abuse is inevitable because the very foundation of the student/guru relationship is a betrayal of the human condition. Gangaji is just as guilty as her husband. She allows people to treat her as if she is a "representative of the divine." (See their forum at tribe.net).
Prince Charles (who should know), once said that the cruelest thing anyone could do to a child is to raise him to believe he's better than others. I agree, and add that it's just as bad to allow a grownup to think the same thing. There's a world of evil released when vain gurus start thinking those grovelling sycophants are actually making sense.
