Although the article is interesting to see somebody talk about NAMs as conflicting with church dogma, at the same time, the Catholic Church, with the new former-nazi pope just seems to be becoming more reactionary. 

There was a really  idiotic and chilling NYT op-ed column attacking evolution by Cardinal Schonborn or the Catholic Church.  There was  finally a response from within the chursh.  No surprise: it comes from a Jesuit. The Independent in the UK has the story about a column blasting the Cardinal's fear of science and knowledge that appears in the British Catholic newspaper The Tablet.
