Why doesn't "knowledge" include integrity?

Call me naive, but when I was a premie, I thought we were looking for "the truth"--or at least some truth!  There was so much talk about what's "real" as opposed to "the world" or "the mind" which were of course, unreal, deceptive, dangerous, untrustworthy.  Knowledge, on the other hand, was supposedly about being honest, about the heart, about the deepest part of who you ARE!  Is it possible that someone can make an industry out of requiring honesty and yet be so totally full of dissembling and lies and greed and dishonesty himself?????  Apparently so!  And what a lesson in reality that is! I can't tell you how glad I am to have escaped from this with my life and my integrity intact!  If there's any "aspirant" out there still thinking this could change your life for the better, just know that you are there to make M's life richer, and NOTHING ELSE! ~Shelagh, still taking showers after three years of being free from this pit!
