Alan Turing proposed a test for the intelligence of a machine ( http://cogprints.org/499/00/turing.html
, at its simplest, passing the test involved the machine attaining a sufficient level of semantic sophistication.
I have a comparable test for 'premie intelligence' though it involves attaining a negative rather than the positive that Turing proposed :
A premie may be said to have regained a level of cult free intelligence when he/she communicates in language that can conclusively be identified as not being - "the copy produced by a public relations exec' working on the rebuttal brief for the legitimizing of Rawat as an Inspirational Speaker".
