Thats a spot on analysis Mr Bryn !

It is the lack of ownership/grip upon the 'experience' which prduces the infantile comfort state of deebotion. M on the other hand has a proprietry grip on the experience which gives him the amoral advantage. Sadly he has not the understanding or willingness to enable others to 'own' knowledge, despite the words to the contrary.

The very act of branding something as 'his' is where the spin starts to mutate what could be a very interesting perspective into an unexamined, servile gawp.

Having spent many hundreds of hours in drama and theatre workshops with teachers who all cheerfully share and give away what they have found, the emotionally constipated difference with M is marked.

If he is a control freak, its probably because that is his only grasp on the family business, and he has to consolidate his position wherever possible, and the family jewels are not the 4 techniques, but the constituency of followers/exclusivity and the quagmire of gratitude.

Unfortunately what we would have made of knowledge with a better teacher will never be known because it is now contaminated with his mug shots and slo-mo holi-porn. Devotion was what it was all about. Gratitude = $$$, giving the techniques away for free was just the worm on the hook.
