I was struck by Will's comment that Ghi was one of the nicest premie to have posted on XPF. I didn't agree with his statement though I did see that, so far, his posts have been politer and lacking the intemperate abuse of some of the other premies. It can be a little difficult understanding Ghi's posts because of his spelling mistakes, the nebulousness of much that he writes and the many statements that are grammatically or syntactically incorrect. So I've waded through the verbiage to extract any direct statements that weren't about himself and here are some of his statements paraphrased to make their meaning more explicit. Mike Finch's angst and isolation and disillusionment with Knowledge (and that of a lot of others who post on XPF) was caused by his immature, dishonourable pursuit of a personal relationship with Maharaj. Will's approach to inquiry about practicing Knowledge is logical and jagged. (Does anyone know what 'jagged' means in this context?) Will has layers of resentment and predisposed judgment and has mistaken the structures for the experience. Will is blocking the possibility that Maharaji is real because he wrongly attributes it all to a concept. Will and other ex-premies (scholars and lawyers, esp.) believe logic is more important than feeling. Ex-premies are the people who have created a cult but premies have a heightened awareness that prevents decisions made on conceptual or religious grounds. Ex-premies are hurt and disappointed and in a negative frame of mind because their false expectations were not fulfilled and because of their unresolved cognitive dissonance. Ghi respects Joe's passion for truth but everything that Joe writes about premies and Prem Rawat is wrong and 20 years out of date and Ghi does know Joe and does know how he feels from years ago. Babaluji is picking on Mitch possibly because he misses his humor. Ghi defines an active premie as anyone who has been “initiated”, whether or not they maintain any contact with Elan Vital, because people are “just having their own experience”. Nicole Kidman has “radiance” in the movie 'The interpreter'. While Ghi is unrelentingly negative in his views on ex-premies, he is hardly any kinder to his brethren and on his evidence EV is a cult and most premies don't get any benefit from it. “I sincerely feel that one can enjoy Maharaji, his Knowledge and reject the cult. Cult(ure) is a social phenonomen, not taught by Maharaji. It's the people around him, under him, or wherever than perpetuate this alienating behavior. “ So he agrees that Elan Vital is a cult and the alienating behaviour in it is created and perpetuated by the premies close to Rawat and appointed by him. “You know a lot of pwks, but there are more and more who are finding it real, helpful, and not in conflict with their professional or social worlds.” This means that very few premies, excluding the many Joe knows, actually find “Knowledge” real and helpful. Ghi has me a little preplexed. |
