My one question to you is this: How do you respond to people who are not premies (and possibly checking out m and k), when they ask if prem rawat is the only teacher who can show you god (or whatever term you want to use), and knowledge is the only way? The reason I ask is this: every premie I know tries to side-step the question, and will invariably say something benign, like "He's my master, I don't know or judge anything else", or "there are many paths, and this is mine", "he's the one that showed me how to have this feeling"....or something similar.... It's basically a liberal, open ended type of "live and let live" philosophy, which allows for other religions, paths etc...
However, when you scratch the surface of prem rawats talks, not only from the 70's, where he was much more blatant about it, but still to this today, you will find that he declares: 1-a person needs this fulfillment, and they cannot get it on their own... 2-he can show it... 3-only he can show it, and although you can look wherever you might like, ultimately "No one comes home without the Master" (his direct quote from a recent visions video)......
How do you explain this to new people? Premies like the "I'm ok, you're ok" approach, in order to not look like religious fanatics, yet ultimately it is prem rawat that one must listen to, not the premies, and he's says that there's only one way and that is through the living master and he is that living master...in other words he is the one and only way to fulfillment....(If you want to play an interesting game with this, consider his statement that a person can only know god through the living master....that would mean that in our lifetimes the only people on the face of the earth that have truly known god would be the devotees of prem....in other words, no one in the entire world in the last 35 years has ever known god, except for the premies....no one in the US has ever known god, until 1971, when the master came to the US and started to give knowledge....(of course now, you can get it from a dvd, and that speeds up the process a bit....)...are you willing to stand by these claims, because they come from YOUR MASTER, not just some crazy premie...) Can you "shed some light"? BTW, this is not 70's stuff, this is present day, it's just a bit more muted today... One more question, on a related note: Do you really believe that someone could be a christian today and be a premie as well? If so, how? Also, any comments on my previous post down below about "experience and higher consciousness" would be listened to.... Modified by la-ex at Fri, May 13, 2005, 12:56:57 |
