Hi Henna,

There are two senators for each state (a total of 100), and 433 members of U.S. Congress (the number of reps. for each state is based on population and districting).  That's 533 politicians you're talking about writing to on the federal level alone.  Here's the url to the house, you provided the one to the senate.

I wouldn't worry too much about those commendations because they are pretty much meaningless.  These politicians come and go with the election cycles. 

Btw, a senator/representative of a state has nothing to do with what the governor does.  Everybody has their own offices and separate staff, budgets, etc.  (Hey, that's where so much of our tax money goes too!)

Then there are the indvidual state legislators, both representatives and senators, so you're talking a lot of folks to write to!  I'm not concerned with this too much, because as I said, those commendations are issued every day of the week, and truth be told, I prefer my elected officials do the jobs they were elected to do, not be so concerned with a no-name, nobody cult leader of a dying cult.
