I think alot of the views here are from the fall out of the system of chasing and gambling everything for one more shot... obviously it doesn't last, and I agree is immature. However, that is not experience I want to cultivate or honor. I can't comment on your post at length, which I know was addressed to Mike, as there are pressing concerns in my ( non- cyber ) life at the moment. Please stop calmly telling lies ( by implication )on this forum, Ghi. You haven't introduced yourself and IMO it is becoming increasingly obvious that you are here to try to make the inconsistencies between the official Elan Vital point of view and the pov of the exes who contribute to this forum seem ( to an outside reader, possibly someone interested in " The Keys") somehow reconcilable. The quote (above) from your text is a typical example . Many of us who were around in the mass recruitment days of the seventies , remember perfectly well how we were encouraged to feel that spending all our money jetting around the world to see the "Lord " and receive his " Darshan" ( supposed divine grace of his presence ) was somehow an essential part of the path to salvation.Don't forget that we were frightened into believing that " realising the knowledge" was the purpose of our lives and NOT work, family etc.... Guru Maharaj Ji , as he was called then , used to joke about our " bosses" and the jobs we had abandoned. I'm sure Hilltop can find some prescient quotations from the guru, of him belittling our concerns about our work in the real world and hinting at how much more important it was to spend time with him. It is very insulting to our intelligence Ghi, to tell us that what we did (travelling to see the Lord of the Universe ) , even until recently.....was "immature "........I certainly understood it to be divine " agya" ( a direction from the Guru ) and helpful to the process of " surrender" . All the premies around me seemed to believe the same thing. If you are only here as a PDS ( = "premie doing service".. thanks for that expression Cynthia! ) and do not want to enter into meaningful dialogue, then may I suggest that you stop wasting everybody's time and depart.( This could be construed as being told to " Fuck off" by a British lady ...I loved your story, Mike ! ) Modified by Lexy at Mon, May 09, 2005, 05:56:29 |
