Jim Jones, like Maharaji, stopped using the religious image and became secular in his socialist/humanist (his own sick version of these ideologies).  Jones stopped with the faith healing, pentecostalist background, the same as Rawat has stopped using the Hindu background of former days.  Jones mocked religion and belief in God.  Similarly, Maharaji says now that he doesn't know if there is a God (I actually heard this on one of the aspirant EV tapes) or afterlife.  Jones began to abuse speed by injection, (not the behavior of a practicing Pentecostal Christian) have sexual addictions,   and similarly, M now drinks, smokes weed, has sex problems,  and eats meat (not the behavior of a practicing Hindu).
