If he by some chance actually meant "Welcome to a journey of aspiring" then he should know that doesn't make grammatical sense.

Welcome to a journey of aspirations...? Or, perhaps, welcome to an aspirational journey. Trouble is, even when the grammar is correct the thought is totally vacuous.
