The problem is doubly bad, in fact

Joe,

You're right that Rawat doesn't want anyone to say anything that isn't kosher but, truth is, that was always the case.  The cult, like any good authoritarian thought structure, has always done its best to suppress embarrassing statements by premies.  But back in the day, when we were involved, people were still allowed to give satsang, encouraged even.  The control came from the general understanding that if you screwed up, your satsang rights were restricted.  If you said something really whack, such as openly criticizing Rawat or questioning him, you might be clearly chastised and told your satsang days were over, at least for some period.  If you just said something mildly off, you might find a few months go by before you were ever asked to express yourself again.

That's how it used to be.

At this point, though, it's far, far worse.  For now, it's not so much that premies can't be trusted to spout the party line it's more like there really is no party line any longer!  By cutting off all ties to the bullshit Hindu tradition he rose from and by assiduously avoiding anything at all that places what he has to say in any sort of context, Rawat has taken vagueness and emptiness to a new level.  He used to spout bullshit but it was bullshit with a theme.  Now he says nothing at all.  It's the most incomplete "message" imaginable.  It's all one big mental disconnect and no, it certainly isn't the words.  It's really come down to just sitting there in front of him, either live or electronically, and drooling.

Bottom line is that Rawat can't let anyone convey this message for him because is no message left.  There's no there there.  There's nothing.
