There is a very small number of people who have an ambiguity at chromosomal level.  something like xxy for instance.

Mainly intersex people are still either xx or xy like the rest of us.  At one end they are visibly ambiguous at birth and parents used to be told they must decide which and generally they would choose female.  Nowadays they are left alone which is a lot better, I think.  At the other end it is not until puberty that it becomes even slightly noticeable there is a maleness in the female.  Hormones.  It is attributed to the hormonal surges in the womb.  It's genetic.

So then there are these men who would be women.  I get to hear the stories of the women who they married and had children with until mid life crisis brings the lipstick out.  

These are very painful stories, they are another turn of the screw from what I experienced.

Numbers are numbers, Jim.  Inevitably the world population has to reach a tipping point where the percentage who are straight goes into decline.  I believe that has already happened.  

It's not something you can change any more than you can change ageing.
