It is true, Israel supported Hamas in order to weaken Arafat at that time, a known shtick. Later, when it won the election because Ashaf was so weak, due to Israeli policy it became the most favorable enemy of Israel, which from time to time rage a war against Gaza. Read what Israel does to fishermen trying to earn their living, how it denies fishing rights that Israel itself Agreed to, how Israel shoots at them, and confiscate their boats. What does not published at the mainstream news are the constant provocations of the army, killing everyone who is gets near the fence in order to cultivate their land. No wonder that after so many provocations a missile is sent towards us, usually not causing any damage but being an excuse to start a terrible war like the last one.
