no no that's not environmental doom talk.  I agree with 13 - it wouldn't be that hard to make vast improvements to the environment if that was our aim.

No it's human evolution doom talk.  sorry.

Say, say that we did manage to stop the destruction with enough natural resources left to regenerate conditions that are habitable.  Which I find fairly unimaginable but say we accidentally did it.

We are still left with human evolution and the writing is on the wall.  We are in an escalating mess.  sorry.

And anyway before we can get back to sorting out our own problems we have to face up to the possibility of world war.  And the potential collapse of the financial systems.  Well maybe we can avoid that by having a war.  Bomb everyone instead.  But there is no recovery from a world war, we have too much weaponry these days.

And I'm still even more worried about what the chemists, mechanics and medical scientists are doing right now in peace time.

I saw a horrific thing last night on the 7.30 report, ABC National.  Have you heard about the genetically modified disease which involves growing awful tumours or losing your memory that is being put down to agent orange?  My Amazing Twin I think it was called.  google that if you dare.

It's not that it's impossible to fix our problems.  It's not that we don't have miraculous powers of regeneration.  It's not like we don't know what to do, it's just that the circumstances are what they are.
