I don't know what system of education Rawat was taught under at St Joseph's but he left before he finished what we call high school in Australia. In his speeches I've been listening to lately there's a lot of information that was taught in basic high school science classes in my day back in the 60s.
So I've started thinking, does he think we don't all know these things? He's must have picked up this information ad hoc over the years and mayb he doesn't know its the basic information we all have. Does he think he's educating the listeners on all levels?
I transcribed a lot of his 1970s speeches 20 years ago and once he stopped reciting the Indian shtick and started talking about what he was thinking about he was completely ignorant and his "deep insights" didn't even reach the level of cod philosophy. He's learnt a lot since then but he always thought he knew everything anyway and that hasn't changed.
Watching these more modern speeches with his idiosyncratic English, his shrieks and whispers, his l-o-oi-o-o-o-n-g-g-g pauses, his regular reiteration of ideas about breath coming in and the fundamental necessity for peace all coming out of his fundament and his oh so daring mentions that we're all going to die makes me think that people who aren't premies must think he's mad. Surely they're sitting there politely, thinking "Well he donated $20,000 so just sit and smile even if this boring shite makes me want to stand up and scream 'Shut up you crazy bastard!'"
