Rawat is finally wiping out all reference to his father - moving the Autumn Delhi bash to the end of November and calling it Jagriti

http://www.elanvital.org.uk/India05/

Registration and camping come for as little as £330 - (US$600) for a whole seven days !

Jagriti broadly translates as "awareness" and the word is frequently used in the context of education and Government initiatives - Rawat's appropriation of the word shows his usual parasitism of language, so although Hans Ji has been consigned to oblivion Rawat is at least sticking to his own tradition of disingenuity.

For an organisation that actually made deserved use the word Jagriti see: http://www.jagriti-international.org/

When I think about these maneuvers by both Maharaji's to possibly avoid a public or private clash over their dead father's birthday anniversary, I can't help but think it's all so childish and meaningless.  It probably has monetary value for them, but, it's still so juevenille.

Boy am I glad I'm rid of all of this.

As the mafia families in the US discovered, conflict is bad for business. Better for Rawat to avoid clashing with his brother's guru business conventions than to court unwanted publicity from the Indian press. There probably aren't too many instances of two brothers both claiming to be the divine successor of their father's mission. It shouldn't be long before some Indian journalist picks up the story.

Oh, and btw, hi Cynthia! We got nightly frost and clear skies at the moment. We had one fall of sleet (or wet snow as we Latvians say) on 24th October.

John.

Hi John,

Yeah, business is business.

We had our first snowfall of very heavy, wet snow and lost our power for nearly two days.  It's here -- winter, that is.

Hope you're well,

Maharaji can\'t even have an event in India without you wallowing in confusion.
Hans Jayanti celebrates Maharaji\'s father\'s birthday which is in the beginning of November, this event is in the end of November so it can hardly be called Hans Jayanti.
You must be desperate to think Sat Pal has anything to do with it?

Why not take another step and claim that Maharaji now hates his father and has refused to have a event to celebrate him?

Especially confusion.  I know when Shri Hans birthday anniversay is because my birthday is November 10th, and I spent many, many years, worshipping the ground Rawat walks on for having those festivals just so I could see him on my birthday.

And frankly, I couldn't care less when Captain Rawat holds his cult gatherings.

Why do you bother posting here?  Isn't it against Rawat's cult rules?

'Why do you bother posting here? Isn't it against Rawat's cult rules?'

Maybe reporter reports to M? Surely M has someone watching over us (he used to imply that he did it himself) looking for spanners heading for the works, shit moving in the direction of a fan, and maybe opportunities for libel cases and such. And maybe reporter feels justified in engaging with us, on behalf of M.

Or does reporter think he is somehow above following M's direction ?

>You must be desperate to think Sat Pal has anything to do with it?<

Why would considerations about Satpal not have an impact on how Prem/EV/RVK choose to organise ? In the real world competing businesses, even competing philanthropic organisations operatate in the light of what the competition is doing - is Rawat some how magically immune from thses normal considerations ?

>Why not take another step and claim that Maharaji now hates his father and has refused to have a event to celebrate him?<

It is a relevant question to pose - Why after 33 years of Hans Jayanti festivals is Rawat no longer publicly celebrating his 'teacher' ?

I think we should be grateful for every correction made by whomever. If Reporter hadn't alerted us to these mistaken ideas some of us would have gone on thinking that Rawat had cancelled HJ.

The truth is the same no matter who tells it. Thanks Reporter.

I believe in this context, Cynthia's "Boy am I glad I'm rid of all of this," refers to Maharaji's tomfoolery and all the ridiculous changes and trips he put us through, not to Forum 8.

Hi Steve,

I believe in this context, Cynthia's "Boy am I glad I'm rid of all of this," refers to Maharaji's tomfoolery and all the ridiculous changes and trips he put us through, not to Forum 8.

Yes, that's about right.  I am well over having been in that cult, and  I post here now and then, mostly because I think this subject is so interesting, and of course, when I think I have something really important to say.

I don't have much patience with premies anymore, especially ones like Reporter, who seems to enjoy picking on exes, in a one-up-manship type of way.

Be well,

Cynthia

As far as I know, as I've been myself in events' setups in India in the 80's and 90's,
the works start way before - at least 1 month before the event's beginning, and it's very likely it's been affected by what happened last week.

I just hope that no premies were killed.

Are you sure that this was his real civilian name? Who were his parents? The "Hansa" as a religious symbol in Hinduism might have been adopted during his career in becoming or making himself the satguru and successor of Sarupanand, which sheds some funny light on the ongoing discussion at Wikipedia, were premies now start to state that he has his authority completely out of himself, no heritage needed. Well. that's the way everybody does it, when the master goes and different disciples "feel" it's their turn and start their own business.

Cynthia, thanks that is what one editor says too at Wikipedia but he does not provide references.

Wouldn't it be very implausible that a religious person with the name of "Ram" broke with the tradition as exemplified by the ideal father and ideal son in the Hindu epic Ramayana that the oldest son has the greatest authority and succeeds the father? The oldest son Rama eventually succeed king Dasaratha.

With regards to the Ramayana, the contrast between the intellectual achievements between my former guru and Prem Rawat continue to amaze me. Sathya Sai Baba (who is not a particularly intellectual type of guru) wrote his own romantic version of the Ramayana, called "Ramakatha Rasavahini". I know, of course that Rawat put an emphasis on "experience", but still.

Premies are in total denial, and I learned there is no point in such disccussions,
unless it's fun for you !

But, don't forget that Prem Rawat himself, on his website (the one with the toilet's flush), claimed that very heritage !
With the 'past masters' pictures etc, don't you remember ?

I have a full backup of his pages in my archives.

I remember that. It was Rawat's (no one else to blame) transparent and ham-fisted attempt to apply some legitimacy to his guru-ship in the midst of all the ex-premie forum revelations. The Wizard of Oz was desperately flashing lights and hiding behind kirtans like so many bogus fakirs before him. More savvy observers had to take him aside and whisper humanitarian leader into his ear once again and lo TPRF was born. Handing out eye exams and food and UN press releases like manna from heaven in hopes of refreshing his sullied reputation.

Request a return letter on their letterhead and offer to send the postage in rupees or dollars.

Ask both of them and if they both agree (surely SatPal and Prem pal can at least agree on that) then there will be no one to dispute the name.

I've got a big brother, he's two years older than me. We've argued at times but I can't imagine not having any contact with my siblings.

So what is his real name?

Why is an email not a verifiable source in the WWW (wacky world of wikipedia)?

Surely if you send an email to a particular email address and someone responds from that same email address it is automatically verified?  Anyone can spoof an outgoing email address, but what can't be spoofed is someone receiving an email at a particular email address.  Hence if you received an email in response to an email you sent it is verified.

Ok, so you have to meet the high standards of wikepedia before you mention what Hans' real name is there.  I don't think this forum demands such high standards, so feel free to let us know what response you got please Andries.  And who responded.  SatPal or PremPal? Both?  Or maybe you have not got a response?

Thanks

T

Unpublished e-mails or a letters that are in my personal possession are not considered verifiable. They are not verifiable because you cannot expect an other editor of Wikipedia to visit me personally to assess their authenticity.  Only if the e-mail and letter are published e.g. in a book then they would be okay as a source.

I did not receive a reply from Satpal yet.
